Maintenance

Call us at (910) 944-2361 or submit a form on our website. We will have Michael Maness, our Director of Maintenance, schedule a site visit to meet with you, and assess and measure your property. Once signed and approved by you, we can begin service. This is usually less than a two-week process from requesting a bid to having a crew onsite to perform services.

We offer 42- and 52-week contracts. 52-week contracts are serviced every week of the year. 42-week contracts are serviced every week from April - end of October. We visit every other week between November until the end of March. This allows us to provide the quality service you expect at the price point that suits your needs.

We offer full-service contracts that completely take care of your property. This includes regular mowing, pruning of shrubs and trees up to 15 feet tall, blowing off hard surfaces like driveways and patios, and debris pickup. We also partner with Nature’s Select Lawn Care to take care of fertilization of your plants and lawn to ensure better health. Nature’s Select’s biological program focuses on building the overall soil health, which works with nature to provide optimum results. We also offer extra services for an additional cost, such as pine bark, pine straw and seasonal flower installations, as well as irrigation services (install and repair), and plant installations.

We cover everything so you can enjoy being outdoors without the hassle of worrying about multiple service providers. The convenience of one phone call to take care of all your outdoor concerns is an added benefit we provide through our business. We have dedicated service professionals for every step of the way and a fully staffed office you can connect with. We are fully licensed and insured, so you can rest assured you are working with industry professionals that will take care of the details to let them focus on enjoyment of their outdoor spaces with family and friends.

A contract is good for one year from the start date. We can typically start within two weeks of a signed contract, depending on time of year. We aim to please, but if you need to cancel the contract early, there is a $250 early termination fee to cover the cost of applied materials. Contracts automatically renew with a small 2% annual increase unless other arrangements have been made.

Each service team has a dedicated residential field supervisor. You will be given their contact information and able to connect directly with them with your concerns. Our administrative team at the main office is also always available to help with other questions or billing concerns.

On current accounts, The Southern Landscape Group will replace (at original installation size), any tree, shrub, or vine that dies within 120 months of the date of installation. Perennials are under a 1-year warranty from install. Replacements are limited to plants designed, installed, and maintained (full service) by The Southern Landscape Group and have proper automatic irrigation supplied to them.

Unfortunately, we do not offer one-time maintenance services to non-maintenance clients. We will offer a cleanup service for newly contracted maintenance clients to get a property up to speed. We are unable to offer additional services to non-maintenance clients or one-off cleaning projects.

We currently do not offer winter snow and ice removal services.

We only offer maintenance services through annual contracts, in 42- or 52-week intervals. Due to the high quality of our work, we are unable to offer one-time services, monthly, or variable time plus material billing applications.

We can easily arrange that for you through our irrigation department. Our Irrigation Manager, Ed Brooker has over 38 years of experience and is a wealth of knowledge for the team. He schedules all irrigation service work. We will happily connect you with him to repairs, services, or new installations. He also offers yearly contracts or one-time repair services, based on the client’s needs.

Irrigation

We offer decades of experience and a dedicated, fully staffed office team. We are all under one roof meaning things are simpler. We offer quality workmanship, which results in less service visits to your home and peace of mind for you. We are also able to troubleshoot many things over the phone and offer our support to our clients. Choosing to go with our team over another means being able to dial one phone number and get the help you need from any of our departments as well as being confident you received the right answer.

Yes, we have licensed testers on staff to test your backflow. Maintenance clients can have their backflow tested for $125. Non-maintenance clients are $150.

Most homes in Moore County are required to have annual testing. Some commercial zones allow testing on commercial properties once every three years.

If we have tested your backflow the year before, we are notified when it is due for receipt. If you have skipped a year, or had another service provider, you will need to call in as we will not be automatically notified. Note that we only need the due date for your backflow to get this scheduled for you. The customer number is for your reference only.

Yes, we offer annual contracts to ensure your annual maintenance is automatically taken care of. It includes our spring startup and audit, seasonal check, and winter shutdown. Backflow testing is offered at $150 for clients. There are also additional benefits for repair work and further testing. It is cheaper than individual service calls and used often by our non-maintenance clients who only need irrigation services.

Yes. Depending on how extensive the repairs are, there are often benefits to considering a new irrigation system or abandoning old (8+ years) parts of the line to help make a system more efficient. We can tailor our focus based on your desired goals for your system.

Service calls start at $150 for non-maintenance clients and $125 for maintenance clients. This covers the first hour on the job and any small repairs we can make while onsite. There may be a small charge for additional materials needed to make the repair. The client is billed time plus materials for further work on the same service call. Additional hours are billed at a lower rate than the first hour. Most service calls take less than two hours. Large jobs (new irrigation system, mainline break, well pump burn up, line tracing) may require more than one service call or visit. Whenever possible, we combine visits to reduce costs to our clients. We are upfront about quotes that require service calls to price out the work as well.

Yes, we recommend Hydrawise smart controllers that allow you to see the system remotely from your phone. We can help make adjustments easily for you as well. We also have many decades of experience with Rainbird, Hunter, Toro, and other irrigation systems. Overall cost of the project depends on many factors, such as if you already have an irrigation system or if this will be a completely new installation.

There is not a short answer to this that would fully cover every scenario. Each municipality has different costs for the permits required for a new irrigation system and backflow. If you have a sewer service, you will be required to have a second irrigation meter installed by your water purveyor. If you are on a septic system, only a RPZ backflow prevention device is required.

Where is my invoice? How do I pay my invoice?

Due to the nature of the services, we are not able to offer a warranty on repair work. A common scenario we see is repairing one part of an older system may build better pressure and show that an older part of the system also needs repair. We always aim to do good work and reduce the number of service calls to your home. We thoroughly test systems after repair work and installs to help minimize callbacks and ensure you are satisfied with our work as well.

Design Build

The design process typically takes an average of 8 weeks to fully complete.

Unfortunately, we are not able to clean drainage pipes or sewer cleanouts. Single wall pipe is not suitable for high pressure cleaning and will often break or shatter into pieces. Double wall pipe is possible to clean and is best suited to a company that focuses on cleaning out drainage full time.

Unfortunately, we are not able to offer one-time cleanups, prunings, cutbacks, or overgrown plant reduction projects.

The type of plants that will grow well in your yard depends on how much light is present, if you have irrigation, the type of soil in your yard, and how much space you have to let your plants grow. We are experts in plant material and more than happy to look into what options would best suit your home.

Design build offers a 1-year warranty on projects for workmanship and plants under automatic irrigation. We recommend signing up for maintenance with our team as it offers an extended warranty.
